Tweens’ Literature Circle (Ages 10-12)
February 7 at 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm CST
An event every week that begins at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until May 23, 2023

In this small-group tutorial, students gather in a literature circle to discuss newly released middle-grade novels in depth. Books can be read independently or (as we like to say) ear-read with audiobooks. We’ll talk about plots, character arcs, etc., with a side of fun and games each week.
Literature circles are seminar-style discussion groups that provide a way for students to engage in critical thinking and reflection as they read, discuss, and respond to books. Collaboration is at the heart of this approach. Students reshape and add to their understanding as they construct meaning with other readers. Literature circles guide students to a deeper understanding of what they read through structured discussion and artistic responses. The discussion is guided by students’ responses to what they have read, including events and characters in the book, the author’s craft, or personal experiences related to the story.
